Red light therapy works by stimulating the mitochondria in our cells to produce more ATP, or cellular energy. When our cells have more energy, they're better able to carry out their necessary functions, leading to a variety of benefits, such as skin rejuvenation, wound healing, hair regrowth, fat loss and muscle gain, hormone optimization, better sleep, pain relief and reduced inflammation, and improved athletic performance.

Wavelengths and Dosing Effective red and near-infrared light therapy requires specific wavelengths of light: 660 nanometers for red light and 850 nanometers for near-infrared light. Over 3,000 published studies have shown these two wavelengths to have the greatest biological impact on the cells of the human body. Red light is best for superficial skin treatments, while near-infrared light is best for treating deep tissues, such as joints, muscles, and the brain.
